Thenmala Butterfly Park

India's foremost eco-tourism project, Thenmala, has started a new one of a kind attraction in india, a butterfly park. Kerala Forest Research Institute has artificially created 3.5 hectare park.

According to the experts already been sighted in the park. To boost the feeding and breeding of the butterflies, micro habitats with special shrubs and trees have been planted. The park has roosting plants and host plants that provide the right leafy meal to caterpillar species and plants with leaves which butterflies depend for sustaining their life.

Special water sprinklers and artificial ponds have also been built in the park. Visitors and butterfly enthusiasts can watch the various life cycles of many rare and endemic butterflies.
